momenti imbarazzanti nella vita

Embarrassment has no limits, it’s a bottomless pit

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

This is my Prince’s car.

Last night all hell broke loose. The shutters kept smashing, the dog was trying to claw its way into bad with us and the downstairs bathroom wall- fan literally flew out of its socket leaving a hole in the wall, and a bathroom full of unique ‘Costeggiola leaf collection’.

Amazingly enough, there’s not a scratch on the car. The tree that fell, landed on another tree that fell earlier and formed a bridge over the car, so we Dodged a bullet on that one.

This week’s lesson is going to be inspired by ‘near misses’, we’ll talk about embarrassment.

a hell of a night

Some embarrassing situations have no cultural boundaries and neither do our reactions to them. People love talking about embarrassing situations that happened to them in the past, because it’s cleansing. Even more fun, is telling stories of embarrassing situations that happened to others, since, talking about  others’ misfortune, we all feel like we’ve dogged a bullet.

we’ll watch some great embarrassing footage of famous people embarrassing themselves, and talk about the effect that social media has on preserving these moments forever.

I’ll ask my students to rate embarrassing situations from 1- 10,  and to explain how they have confronted them, and also, how they should have confronted them in hindsight.
